Zensor Care offers a discreet, non-intrusive monitoring device to ensure the safety and independence of people living alone. Thanks to intelligent sensors connected to an application, an alert is sent via the app in the event of a lack of activity.

Zensor Technologies is a start-up dedicated to improving the safety and well-being of people living alone, especially the elderly. Using passive, non-intrusive motion sensors, Zensor provides discreet surveillance to detect anomalies in the daily activity of isolated people, without disrupting their lifestyle. Thanks to its mobile application and artificial intelligence algorithm, relatives can be alerted in real time in the event of a problem, guaranteeing their peace of mind without encroaching on their loved ones' independence.

The idea for Zensor was born of personal experience, when the founder became aware of the limitations of alert systems that require personal intervention in the event of a problem. This experience led to the design of discreet, autonomous sensors, designed to integrate harmoniously into the daily lives of those being monitored.

Issues

People living alone, especially senior citizens, are vulnerable to domestic accidents and health incidents, without the option of asking for help. Existing solutions often require the person in difficulty to activate an alert button, which can be problematic if they are unable to do so. Zensor seeks to overcome this limitation by offering a monitoring system without direct interaction, enabling proactive and unobtrusive detection.

Solution

Zensor Technologies has developed a system of motion sensors, placed in strategic locations around the home, which send alerts when abnormal activity or a prolonged absence of movement is detected. These passive sensors collect information and analyze the user's habits to detect any deviation from the usual routine. The person being monitored does not need to wear any device, and their independence remains intact.

The data collected is processed by an artificial intelligence algorithm that sends notifications via an ergonomic mobile application to the person's loved ones, enabling rapid reaction in the event of a problem. This approach minimizes risk without requiring lifestyle changes or additional mental workload for loved ones.

Results

Zensor Technologies achieved several important objectives during its development phase:

  • Market validation: Through 125 interviews with the target audience, Zensor refined its product and positioning.
  • Working prototype: A competitor's sensor was used to create a prototype, enabling Zensor to test and optimize its own sensor.
  • Reduced stress for family caregivers: By offering automated monitoring and real-time alerts, Zensor enables caregivers to reduce their level of anxiety and worry about the safety of their isolated loved ones. This improves the quality of life and relationships for the whole family, especially the relatives often called upon to look after the elderly person.

Business model

Zensor plans to sell its devices online and via distribution channels specializing in wellness and safety technologies for seniors. The mobile app could also include premium services, such as historical activity data or detailed reports for loved ones, enabling proactive monitoring and long-term follow-up.

Future prospects

Zensor Technologies aims to become a key player in the safety of isolated people, particularly seniors, by integrating next-generation sensors and expanding its detection algorithm to include more wellbeing data. The company also plans to expand its partnerships with care organizations to promote its technology to healthcare professionals.
